Job description

Opus people solutions on behalf of Suffolk County Councill have an exciting opportunity for a Local Authority Designated Officer to join their team.

The key element is managing investigations of allegations concerning persons who work with children and young people including those who work in the private and voluntary sector. The post holder will ensure that these allegations and concerns are dealt with fairly and consistently in a way that reflects the rights of the individuals concerned but most importantly provides effective protection for the child.

This is a remote working role

  • Chairing of complex meetings
  • Advice and guidance to all agencies in the management of allegations
  • Ensure the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership procedures are adhered to
  • Clear systems to record all consultation with LADO's, their conclusions and referrals to statutory bodies.
  • Provide regular monitoring of reporting of allegations and report regularly to the Head of Safeguarding and the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership.
