Driver (Passenger Assistant) - Term Time Only

Location: Within 10 miles of SY3 due to split shifts.

Hours: Monday to Friday, split shifts

• Morning: approx. 6:00am - 9:30am
• Afternoon: approx. 2:30pm - 6:00pm

Pay: £13.47 per hour PAYE, rising to £13.69 per hour PAYE after 6 months, on-going basis.

Contract: Term time only, temporary basis.

Opus People Solutions are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate Passenger Assistant (Driver) to join Shropshire Council's Education Transport team, supporting the safe and comfortable transport of passengers during school term times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a vehicle to transport passengers to and from designated locations.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Maintain a clean and roadworthy vehicle, reporting any issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, carers, and colleagues.
• Follow scheduled routes and timings with punctuality and professionalism.
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety and safeguarding procedures.

Essential Requirements:

• Must live within 10 miles of SY3 due to split shift requirements.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Previous experience in a driving or passenger support role is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly.
• A caring and patient attitude, especially when working with vulnerable individuals.
• Enhanced DBS check - this will be processed on your behalf.
