Business Support Officer

Pay: £12.65 per hr, 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Location: Ipswich IP1, hybrid after training

Length: 6 months

Opus People Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of Suffolk County Council for a temporary Business Support Officer to join the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and families across Suffolk by supporting the vital work of the SEND service.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Business Support Officer, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the SEND team.
  • Share knowledge and help improve administrative processes through participation in team reviews and corporate meetings.
  • Draft and send routine correspondence.
  • Monitor and manage group email inboxes efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date office records.
  • Answer incoming phone calls to support communication with families and professionals.
  • Assist with annual reviews and assessments.

Ideal Candidate:

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and digital systems.
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach.

DBS check will be carried out prior to starting along with completed 3 years reference history. Candidates will need to commit to ASAP start once completed.
