Specialist Placement Support Officer

Pay: £13.69 per hour, 37 hours per week

Location: Ipswich / hybrid - 2 days per week in the office

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Suffolk County Council for temporary Specialist Placement Support Officer to undertake a comprehensive range of administrative duties to support the efficient delivery of services within Children and Young People's Services, Inclusion Service. The responsibility of the Children and Young People's Directorate (CYP) is to ensure the safety, well-being and learning of children and young people.

Typical responsibilities for this role are day to day administrative activities related to SEND and inclusion, data entry on Excel, collation of placement information and will include attendance at relevant resource allocation panels. You will be required to collate and hold information regarding the number and costs of placements at independent non-maintained schools and alternative provision and monitor availability within Suffolk's Local Offer to aid placement decisions and maintaining accurate information on a variety of systems. Some visits to local schools might be required.

The successful candidate will ideally have proven administration skills, ability to organise own workload, ability to keep accurate and timely records and data, confident communicator both written and verbal with good IT skills.
