About the Role
We are seeking a Locum Consultant in Public Health to join Walsall Council's progressive and dynamic team. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide strategic leadership and deliver core public health expertise to the Council, health partners, and local stakeholders.

This role supports key programmes, including:
- Health Protection and Healthcare
- Inequalities and Mental Wellbeing
- Young People and Health Improvement
The portfolio offers a stimulating mix of work, with opportunities to lead on inequalities, substance misuse, and mental wellbeing, while fostering partnerships across Walsall and The Black Country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic public health leadership and drive improvements in health outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior colleagues across local authorities, the NHS, and other partners.
- Develop and evaluate innovative public health interventions.
- Lead on local priorities, including inequalities and mental health.
Requirements:
- GMC Specialist Register in Public Health or UK Public Health Register for Public Health Specialists (or be in the final stages of training).
- Strong experience in building constructive relationships and leading within complex systems.
