Brokerage Officer

Location: 2 days remote and 3 days onsite at Civic Centre, Walsall Town Centre.
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
Hourly Rate: £13.69 per hour
Duration: Temporary basis, 3 months ongoing.

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council, for a detail-oriented Brokerage Officer to join its Adult Social Care Brokerage Team. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in commissioning, contracts, or brokerage who are looking to make a tangible impact in the public sector.
As a key player in the team, you'll help ensure that vulnerable adults receive the care and support they need-by brokering high-quality, cost-effective services in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties include:

  • Provide the transactional support in coordinating and broker care packages and services for adults in need, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Undertake care provider search and care placement facilitation tasks
  • Undertake care brokerage negotiation tasks
  • Work closely with commissioning teams, care providers, and social care professionals to match services to individual needs.
  • Use multiple IT systems to manage referrals, track service delivery, and maintain accurate records.
  • Apply your knowledge of health and social care systems, contracts, and commissioning to support effective decision-making.


Expected Experience:

  • Previous experience in administration roles.
  • Previous experience in contract management, commissioning, brokerage, or social care.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Customer service and customer facing skills
  • Ability to engage in complex care service area work - Mental Health and Learning Disability.
  • Ability to travel when required
  • Strong IT literacy and confidence using multiple data systems and platforms.
  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to manipulate and interpret data accurately.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
