Job Title: Housing Options Officer

Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: Negotiable

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Assignment Duration: 3 months temporary

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Options Officer to join the team at The Guildhall, Northampton. This temporary position offers a hybrid work mode, with three days per week in the office, providing flexibility and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide housing advice and assistance to households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness in accordance with Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
• Determine homelessness, eligibility, priority need, local connection, and intentional homelessness.
• Conduct comprehensive casework and issue statutory decision letters.
• Record outcomes and maintain detailed case notes.
• Negotiate with landlords, health services, and other support agencies to secure housing solutions.
• Produce personalized housing plans tailored to the needs of each household.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
• Experience in housing advice, casework, and negotiations with various stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear and concise statutory decision letters.
• Capability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
