Job Opportunity: Estates Manager

Pay Rate: £19.07 (PAYE) or £24.79 (Umbrella)

Assignment Duration: 3 months temporary ongoing (with potential permanent post available)

Location: Brentwood Borough Council

Work Mode: Hybrid (3-4 days in the office)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for creating vibrant communities and delivering exceptional housing services? Brentwood Borough Council is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to join our team on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership for staff, ensuring effective delivery of customer-focused housing services for approximately 3000 properties, including 470 leasehold properties.
  • Manage Estates Management Service operations, developing inclusive policies and procedures for desirable living environments.
  • Lead income recovery efforts, supporting residents as needed and taking data-driven actions.
  • Ensure resident safety and security through tailored housing and support services.
  • Foster a culture of customer service through consultation and feedback.
  • Oversee Leasehold Service, ensuring fair charging and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage low-level Anti-Social Behaviour, implementing efficient action plans.
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards for blocks and estates, including health & safety checks and cleaning/gardening reviews.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in housing management, with a focus on leadership and operational management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
  • Sound knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in budget management and financial regulations.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in IT systems to support effective service delivery and monitoring.
