Last Thursday, three colleagues from Opus hosted a charity quiz night and raffle in support of Cancer Research UK, raising an incredible £1,104!
Nikky Burrows, Lily Smith, and Sarah Clements organised the event as part of their fundraising efforts for Vertas Group’s Exec Experiences. The trio will courageously take on the Millers Dale Abseil Challenge in Derbyshire on 12th June. This marks the second challenge in the Exec Experiences series, which is being led by Kate Innes, Group Chief People Officer at Vertas Group.
Over 50 people joined the quiz, with even more participating in the raffle, thanks to the generous donations of prizes from local Suffolk businesses.
This contributed to the overall fundraising efforts for our 2025 Exec Experiences initiative, which currently stands at £3,783.54 raised.
Nikky Burrows, Business Support Supervisor, shared:
“The night went without a hitch. The atmosphere was ecstatic with just the right amount of competitiveness! The night wouldn't have been a success without the support from Lily, Sarah, and Abbie rounding up all the amazing prizes for the raffle and helping to organise this event over the last few weeks.”
Reflecting on the generosity of the community, Sarah Clements, Business Support Officer, and Lily Smith, Senior Business Support Officer, added:
“It was an amazing evening, and I was overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. Such a great way to raise money for a wonderful cause.”

Last year alone, more than £23,000 was raised for Cancer Research UK through Vertas Group’s 2024 Exec Experiences initiative, bringing the total raised by Vertas Group since 2017 to £77,279.31.
