Opus People Solutions recently joined forces with Recruitment Agencies on our supply chain to donate a variety of festive gifts in support of the Mother Christmas Campaign, which aims to bring festive joy to Children, Families and Care Leavers across Northamptonshire.
The Mother Christmas initiative is led by former social worker Jeanette Walsh, who was initially tasked with ‘Co-ordinating Christmas’ for vulnerable children and families in Northamptonshire after returning to work following a period of illness in 2002.
Over 20 years later, the campaign, delivered in partnership with Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, continues to support over 6,000 children, young people and families by providing gifts to those who may otherwise not receive them.
Opus’ collection focussed on donating gifts for some of the region’s over 900 care leavers aged between 18-25, many of whom will be experiencing their first festive season out of care.
The donations formed part of Opus’ annual Festive Supplier event held in partnership with Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. The event provides an opportunity for our social work suppliers to come together alongside key stakeholders in the Trust, including Chief Executive Colin Foster, to share insights about our recruitment experiences over the past 12 months, understand the Trust’s upcoming recruitment goals and how we can collaborate to develop shared plans to achieve these.
Kristen Sanders, Head of East Midlands at Opus People Solutions, says:
“We are so thankful for everyone’s generous contributions to this year’s Mother Christmas campaign and are pleased to be able to do our bit to support local care leavers this festive season.
It’s really important for us to maintain positive relationships and work in close partnership with the agencies on our supply chain, particularly in areas such as social work. Our supplier events are an excellent way for us to collaborate and generate shared commitment to achieving NCT’s recruitment goals.”
