Opus people solutions on behalf of Northampton Children Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team

Job Title: Social Worker - Children With Disabilities
Length of assignment:3 Months
Hours per week: 37
Hourly rate: £35 -£38
Location: Northampton
Remote/Office based: Hybrid

Responsibilities

• Hold and manage a varied caseload of children with complex disabilities and their families.
• The caseload may include children who are Children in Need, those on Child Protection Plans, and Looked After Children
• Complete thorough assessments to identify the needs of children and their families.
• Identify levels of risk and necessity for safeguarding / protective action.
• Develop, implement and review care plans which address identified needs and outcomes.
• Ensure the child's welfare is paramount in all planning.
• Work under and comply with legal obligations (e.g. Children Act, any relevant Acts regarding disability) to safeguard children.
• Provide support, advice, guidance to families and carers.
• Do direct work with children and young people (e.g. visits, supporting their participation, ensuring their voice is heard) in line with care plans.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date case records and reports
