Opus People Solutions on behalf of Brentwood Borough Council are recruiting for a Senior/Principle Planner to join their team on a temporary contract.

Start Date:

ASAP

Length:

6 Months

Working Location:

Brentwood Town Hall, Part remote

Working Hours:

Overall purpose of the role:

Brentwood has a diverse mix of rural and urban environments all set within a borough dominated by high quality countryside in the green belt. The new Local Plan is set to deliver over 7500 new residential dwellings over the plan period and at least 5000 new jobs, including the creation of a new Garden Village at Dunton Hills. Delivery of landscape led development, protecting and enhancing areas of our environment and heritage along with creating 'place' are some of the key objectives where our Development Management Team is focused and there are opportunities for an experienced planner to be involved in major application project work. Located adjacent to the M25, it has excellent transport links into London and the arrival of Elizabeth line at Brentwood and Shenfield will improve the existing service and provide new direct links through Central London, making it a desirable place to work and live.

As an experienced development management planning officer, you will be dealing with a full range of planning applications but you will be focused on larger or more complex schemes, supporting senior management and mentoring junior members of the team. You will be highly motivated and possess strong communication skills. Green Belt experience is essential.
