Job Title: Senior HR Business Partner
Location: Predominantly WFH with circa 1 day per week in North Northamptonshire office (Thrapston/Kettering/Corby)
Rate of Pay: Negotiable
Working Hours: Full Time - 37 hours
Type: Temporary Role -Rolling 3 Month Contract
Are you a CIPD-qualified HR professional with expertise in employee relations? Join our team as the council navigates a period of significant change. This role will focus primarily on supporting complex employee relations cases with the opportunity to support the wider team on restructures and organisational change initiatives. You'll play a key role in driving positive outcomes for both our organisation and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
- Provide expert support and guidance to managers on complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, and capability issues.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Trade Unions, fostering effective working relationships.
- Act as a mediator and facilitator to resolve employee relations issues early, avoiding formal disputes.
- Support Senior Managers during 1st and 2nd Stage hearings.
- Promote safeguarding practices by advising on disclosure policies and DBS processes.
- Collaborate with the Legal team to represent HR at Employment Tribunals, assessing risks and achieving optimal outcomes.
Change Management
- Lead HR initiatives for service restructures and TUPE transfers, taking a project management approach.
- Support managers in implementing sustainable structural and cultural changes to achieve business objectives within budget constraints.
- Drive cost-effective solutions that deliver lasting, effective service improvements.
What We're Looking For:
- CIPD-qualified professional with extensive experience in employee relations and advising on complex cases.
- Proven track record in large, complex organisations, including experience working with Trade Unions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply employment policies and procedures effectively.
- Experience supporting restructures in large organizations, particularly where Trade Unions are active partners.
