Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer

My client is seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead on complex adult social care matters, drive service transformation, and elevate legal practice through strategic leadership and collaboration.

Role Overview:

  • Provide legal advice and representation on complex cases within the designated legal team.

  • Deputise for the Head of Legal and assist in managing the legal team.

  • Work collaboratively with the Law and Governance Service to deliver high-quality legal services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer specialist legal advice to senior officers, departments, and service areas.

  • Lead service improvement and transformation efforts within the legal team.

  • Identify legislative updates and deliver related training.

  • Promote a commercial approach to legal services and explore income generation opportunities.

  • Assist in policy and report preparation to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.

  • Promote inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and a positive work environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Legal qualification (Solicitor or equivalent).

  • Experience advising on complex legal matters.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Proficient in Office 365 tools.

  • Leadership experience or potential to manage a legal team.

Desirable:

  • Management qualification or experience.

  • Local Authority legal knowledge.
