Job description

Opus People Solutions on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council are recruiting for the position of Payments Officer to assist with administering the Payments of Social Care providers.

Initially 3 months, might be extended.

37 hours per week, office based in Northampton, One Angel Square.

A suitable candidate will be a part of the Payment Team process payments for Adult Social Care and The Children's Trust.

The adult social care payments are made by several different weekly payment runs and manual invoice payments. The Children's Trust payments are done on the payment run.

Payment Officers also deal with queries coming in from care providers regarding payments that have been made or chasing payments that are outstanding. We also deal with payments for VAT.

Officers are required to contact other teams in order to resolve these queries in a timely manner.

Queries from providers come in via email and via the "Landesk" system (which is an in-house customer service portal).

This is a busy role. Applicants must have a good attention to detail and be familiar with working with figures. We use Excel and various databases so experience of these is needed.

Applicants will be required to complete an initial induction and obtain the relevant certificates - this is all online.
