Job description

We are looking for a detail orientated professional to join the central finance team based in Ipswich. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a positive working attitude to join a wider team of 5,000 colleagues across the UK.

The Management Information managerwill take responsibility for the MIS function within the finance team. The role with manage a team of two MIS assistants and will work with the business to produce information that will help make decisions to enhance operational efficiency. The role will work with the operations /management team to gather requirements and ultimately produce report/metric based on them.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing and developing relationships with teams both internally and externally, and also have a broad financial understanding of how service organisations work with the ability to challenge the as is.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of a team including setting tasks, completing 121's and managing conflict within the team
  • Develop metrics using various platforms including Power BI.
  • Ensure accuracy of reports being produced
  • Develop training materials to ensure end users can access metric/report
  • Work with operations team to identify process improvements
  • Developing and maintaining a MIS plan, including budget needs, operational requirements and schedules
  • Presentation of papers to the senior management team
  • Identify risks and support with mitigation strategies
  • Provide support on contract mobilisations/demobilisations
  • Develop and help streamline existing processes
  • Develop Power BI reporting tools with help from an in-house developer
  • Agree, calculate and report KPIs for each service within the division
  • Manage relationships with internal and external auditors
  • Continuous improvement

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in a management role
  • Commercially astute and business focused
  • Power BI and Power Platform knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of stakeholders
  • Awareness of confidentiality and data protection requirements
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
