Title: Mechanic
Rate: £15.67
Location: Green Street Depot, Green Street, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, DY10 1HA
Type: Temporary - 3 months rolling contract
Opus People Solutions are working with Wyre Forest District Council to recruit for an interim Mechanic to assist in the maintenance and service the Authority's vehicles and plant as scheduled.

• To undertake Safety and Service inspections in line with Department of
• Transport requirements.
• To prepare and take vehicles for M.O.T.'s and 'Plating' examinations as
• required.
• To undertake repairs to vehicles and others of the
• Authority's fleet, both in the Authority's Workshop or on the Highway as
• necessary.
• To undertake repairs, including mechanical, electrical and pneumatic
• problems.
• To keep the work area tidy and safe.
• To work with colleagues in providing an efficient and effective service to all
• Sections of the Authority.
• To handle equipment, tools, chemicals and materials in accordance with
• the Health & Safety at Work Act and C.O.S.H.H. Regulations.
• To be aware of Health & Safety/Risk Assessments documents for the
• Garage and to work in accordance with the Safe Working Practices.
• To undertake any other duties as required by the Director of Community
• Well-being and Environment.

It is essential that the Post holder: Must hold a current Full Driving Licence and is desirable to hold a Class 'C' Vocational Licence.
Has a recognised Motor Vehicle Maintenance Qualification or two years' experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic.
It is desirable that the Post holder: Holds a full City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2
