Job Title: IT Support Officer - Hardware Rollout

Location: Office based - Northampton Town Centre

Rate of Pay: £16.24 per hour PAYE OR £21.39 per hour Umbrella

Working Hours: Full Time - 37 hours per week

Type: Temporary - 4-5 months

Opus People Solutions are working with West Northamptonshire Council to recruit for 2 IT Support Officers.

Purpose of the job

This is a temporary role delivering the rollout of new hardware (laptops and monitors) to services across the Council. The successful candidates will be responsible for deploying MS Intune-managed devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rollout of refreshed laptop devices across the Council.
  • Deployment and management of devices using MS Intune.
  • Coaching and advising customers on device usage.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Good knowledge of MS365 apps.
  • Ability to define and build efficient processes, using new tools, for example power automate
  • Experience in software repackaging.
  • Strong understanding of MS Intune management and deployment.

Project Management Skills:

  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, and work to clear timescales.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan effectively.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to remain confident and calm under pressure.
  • Tenacious and diplomatic, with the ability to coach and advise customers who are less technically literate.

  • Responsive and adaptable.
  • Willingness to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
