Rate: £22.36 (ph) PAYE

About the Role

Are you detail oriented, proactive, and passionate about delivering excellent financial support? East Suffolk Council is seeking a Housing Finance Officer to join their dynamic Housing Support Finance Team. You'll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate payments, supporting the Housing Support Accountant in managing invoices, purchase orders, and vendor records all while upholding our values of pride, unity, and good value.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the Housing Invoices mailbox and processing incoming financial documents
• Catalogue and match invoices, delivery tickets, and purchase orders
• Raise and approve purchase orders, ensuring accurate coding and VAT compliance
• Maintain vendor records and support new vendor setup
• Process monthly direct debits and compliance-related service invoices
• Investigate and resolve supplier discrepancies and account holds
• Champion the use of purchase orders and provide guidance to colleagues
• Upload resident and utility meter details for empty properties
• Support recharges and sales invoice processing for tenant-related jobs
• Collaborate across teams and with external auditors to meet strategic financial goals

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Basic understanding of invoice processing and VAT
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Team player with the ability to work independently and escalate when needed
• 4 GCSEs (Grade A-C) including Maths and English or equivalent numeracy/literacy skills
