Job Title: Housing Options Triage Officer

Location: The Guildhall, Northampton

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: £20 - £22 per hour (Umbrella)

Work Mode: On-site

Assignment Duration: 3 months

Job Overview

Join West Northamptonshire Council as a Housing Options Triage Officer. As the initial point of contact in our Housing Solutions Service, you will provide immediate housing advice, prevent homelessness, and guide customers on housing options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initial Contact: Assess housing needs and provide initial advice.
  • Homelessness Prevention: Offer guidance on social housing, private rentals, and other affordable solutions.
  • Coordinate Enquiries: Manage and respond to housing queries via email, phone, and other channels.
  • Eligibility Assessment: Determine eligibility for the Housing Register and make necessary referrals.
  • Record Management: Ensure accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Referral Handling: Respond to referrals under 'Duty to Refer'.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of housing law and data protection.
  • Experience in housing, customer service, or advocacy.
  • Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience with housing allocations and case management systems.
