Job Title: Housing Allocations Team Leader
Location: The Forum in Towcester, The Abbey in Daventry, and the Guildhall in Northampton (Office attendance varies weekly)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days in the office)
Assignment Duration: 3 months temporary (potential for permanent role)
Role Overview:
Support the Housing Allocations & Quality Manager by leading and developing the Housing Allocations Team. Administer the Council's Housing Register, allocate accommodation, and provide comprehensive housing advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Supervise and support the Housing Allocations Team to ensure compliance with the Housing Allocations Policy and relevant legislation.
- Application Oversight: Oversee eligibility, prioritisation, and allocation processes, including handling complex cases.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain relationships with the Council's ALMO and Registered Providers, ensuring adherence to policies and agreements.
- Review and Compliance: Conduct Housing Register reviews and prepare documentation for legal challenges.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a learning environment, ensuring the team stays informed on relevant laws and updates.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of housing law and relevant legislation
- Knowledge of housing policies, welfare reform, and related services
- Familiarity with project management and service improvement methodologies
- Proven track record in leading high-performing teams
- Experience in housing allocations with high demand and time pressures
- Experience in handling complex housing cases and legal compliance
