Job Title: Housing Advice & Benefits Team Manager

Location: Rugby Borough Council

Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days in office)

Working Hours: 37 hours/week

Duration: Temporary (3 months with potential for permanent role)

Hourly Rate: £23.55 - £25.13 (PAYE), £30.62 - £32.67 (Umbrella)


Seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to assume the pivotal role of Housing Advice & Benefits Team Manager at Rugby Borough Council. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in delivering exemplary housing support services while fostering positive community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic initiatives to prevent homelessness and manage housing allocations effectively.
  • Oversee the implementation of housing benefit services and support the development of affordable housing solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement through project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure operational compliance, efficient resource allocation, and adherence to health & safety standards.


  • Proven leadership abilities with a customer-centric approach and a focus on regulatory compliance.
  • Prior experience in housing management and benefit services preferred.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, budgetary oversight, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and nurture stakeholder relationships.
  • Minimum Level 4 qualification in housing management or equivalent.
