Head of Finance and Customer Services (and Deputy S151 Officer) required for 6-month contract.

Opus people Solutions on behalf of Bromsgrove and Redditch Council are looking for a Head of Finance and Customer Services (and Deputy S151 Officer) to join their team on a 6-month contract.
This exciting opportunity is a hybrid role and will require you to work in the office at Redditch Council for 2 days per week (Tuesday & Wednesday).

Bromsgrove and Redditch Council pride themselves on being a progressive organisation, employing around 1000 employees. Both council's work together and have successfully shared services, including a single management team and joint Chief Executive, whilst maintaining their own unique identities and providing high-quality, cost-effective services that are responsive to customer needs.

As a Head of Finance and Customer Services (and Deputy S151 Officer) your role will include:

• Delivery of the 20/21, 21/22 and 22/23 Accounts

• Clearance of Cash Receipting suspense backlog

• Final stabilisation of the finance recovery programme

• Delivery of the 24/5 MTFP

• Restructure of Revenues & Benefits and Customer Services Teams, which are already underway

What we are looking for:

• An experienced Deputy S151 Officer is essential

• A professional qualification (UK chartered accountancy body qualification)

• Extensive experience within a local authority with a proven success in leading a large multi-disciplined team through major change

• A successful track record of operating in a complex political context and winning the respect, trust and confidence of all Councillors, staff, residents and partners

• Experience of planning, monitoring and managing service budgets
