6-12 months temporary

Job Description:
Walsall Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Funding Project Officer to join our External Funding Team on a temporary basis, covering maternity leave. This exciting role offers the opportunity to contribute to the economic regeneration of our borough by supporting strategically important projects, including our Crowdfund Walsall Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Lead the delivery of key funding initiatives, including the Crowdfund Walsall Programme, to drive forward economic regeneration efforts.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and sustain effective relationships with Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) to maximise funding opportunities.
  • Advisory Support: Provide expert advice on project pitches, including leading workshops and offering guidance to ensure the success of crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Marketing and Publicity: Manage and execute marketing strategies, including social media, to promote funding projects and engage the community.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a broad range of partners, linking stakeholders together to enhance project outcomes and funding potential.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience with VCSE Sector: Strong working knowledge of the VCSE sector, with a proven track record as a successful fundraiser or bid writer.
  • Project Delivery: Outstanding skills in project delivery, including the ability to write and present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Digital Proficiency: Good digital skills, particularly in using social media for marketing and community engagement.
