The ideal candidate will possess strong financial planning and analysis skills, with a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in providing insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the month-end close process, ensuring alignment with the overall financial reporting timetable.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Communicate budget and forecast deadlines to Cost Centre Managers, ensuring timely input into Anaplan and implementing necessary administrative updates.
  • Collaborate with the Expense Partner to review budgets and forecasts, delivering ad-hoc analysis and insightful financial commentary.
  • Drive process improvements through cross-training, thorough documentation, system testing, and continuous feedback.
  • Foster strong working relationships across teams, including offshore colleagues, to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
  • Provide commercially driven technical advice to the Expense Business Partner to support optimal accounting practices.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Ideally, experience from a large finance services or insurance company.
  • Technical accounting skills including knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Ability to offer meaningful insights on reporting.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Ideally, you'll have knowledge of payroll and national insurance.
  • Studying towards an accounting qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA or ACA, OR a demonstratable work history in an accounting environment.
