Exciting Career Opportunity: Energy Contract Manager

In this role, you'll be at the heart of all things energy. You'll provide an essential 'one stop shop' for energy and water management to customers covering 1,800 sites and £20m of spend. The supplies range from small primary schools to universities and council offices, as well as private leisure sites. You'll work on high volume services including energy procurement, bill validation, query resolution, electronic bill processing and payment as well as meter installs.

You will be part of an experienced and very helpful and supportive team, where offering excellent customer services at all times is key.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and Monitor: Provide management of electronic data processing/ reprocessing as well as managing the supplier payment processes. You will manage outsourced service providers and ensure they deliver a consistent and high level of service at all times whilst supporting the team in developing new services for customers. You will have a high level of responsibility for day to day operation & management of contracts, representing core company values at all times is paramount.
Future Focussed: Analyse and identify sales opportunities from internal and external databases/marketing activity whilst conducting energy sales activity utilising the full sales cycle to secure business. You will also ensure information is kept up to date on the Energy Management Software and meets the needs of the service.
Quality Delivery: You will be responsible for the maintenance of highly accurate electronic records (e.g. bill and bill payment data) as well as dealing with queries including negotiation and settlement of disputes. It is key to maintain timely and efficient communication with customers, using analytical and numeracy skills to deal with a wide variety of billing, data processing and data reconciliation issues/ problems. You will be an integral part of a high level quality service and be able to quantify the benefits to customers.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience and qualifications: High levels of literacy & numeracy skills required, whilst a relevant energy industry qualification is desirable. · Comply with all relevant Energy regulations and legislation. Using graphical data from smart meters investigate performance issues and variations in energy use.
An industry expert: Extensive knowledge of energy industry bulk billing systems (e.g. Edi) and processes Technical industry knowledge, relating to the supply of gas, electricity, wood fuel, heating oil, and water Excel to an advanced standard. Experience of corporate financial systems (e.g. Oracle, Exchequer 365) Supervisory/ management level knowledge of supplier/ customer relationship management. Good knowledge of public sector organisation & structure Experience using energy management software, preferably Sigma
Excellent interpersonal skills: Ability to maintain effective dialogue in environments where a wide range of skills/ management levels exist Strong negotiation skills and ability to find solutions to complex disputes/ issues. Ability to manage disputes and agree settlements/ compensation· Understand and interpret sometimes complex technical information and communicate this to non-technical staff or contractors.· Communicate effectively with wide variety of staff at all levels.· Negotiation and agree settlement in case of disputes. Develop internal stakeholder relationships to acquire "referral" business and develop internal cross-selling opportunities.
Pay: £25 - £27K per year
