Job Title: Economic Development Lead
Location: Rugby Borough Council
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Work Mode: Hybrid (Thursday on-site)
Assignment Duration: 6 - 12 months (with potential extension)
Purpose of the Job:
Rugby Borough Council seeks an Economic Development Lead to advance the economic ambitions of the borough. This role focuses on supporting the regeneration of Rugby Town Centre and developing a long-term economic strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive economic data repository.
- Collaborate with elected members, businesses, and residents to create a diversified and inclusive economic strategy.
- Design and implement economic action plans and monitoring systems.
- Foster strategic partnerships across Warwickshire to align economic programs with Rugby's needs.
- Create and execute a robust business engagement and partnership plan.
- Manage grant-funded business and skills projects.
- Lead efforts to attract and maintain inward investors.
- Develop marketing materials and a network of support for town centre businesses.
Requirements:
- Degree level qualification or relevant related experience.
- Significant experience in economic development or a related field.
- Understanding of challenges faced by various business types, including SMEs and start-ups.
- Strong strategic and political awareness.
- Knowledge of business sectors and their economic impact.
- Understanding of funding streams for economic development.
- Excellent literacy, report writing, and communication skills.
