Job description

Do you want to make a difference to children's lives!
Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can truly make a difference?

Opus People Solutions are excited to welcome a passionate Childcare Practitioner to join the team at an inspiring dual-registered children's home and educational establishment.
We are looking for someone eager to help children thrive, and who want the opportunity for quick career progression in a supportive, dynamic environment.

About the Role:
The home accommodates up to 10 children with social, emotional, and mental health complexities. As a Childcare Practitioner, you will be part of a dedicated team ensuring these children have the support they need to live fulfilling lives.

Your typical duties will include:

  • Ensuring children are prepared for daily life and supporting them in their learning

  • Working closely with our onsite education team

  • Maintaining a warm, homely environment in the house

  • Planning engaging activities for evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Supporting children with attending external clubs and activities

  • Building strong, positive relationships with the children

  • Role modelling life skills and social interactions

  • Working towards each child's individual personal development plan

What We're Looking For:

No prior experience in childcare? No problem! We're looking for individuals who are committed to improving the lives of young people and being part of a team that strives to create positive outcomes. You'll have the chance to grow and develop with us as we invest in your career.

What you will need:

  • A passion for working with children

  • A qualification in English Language or Literacy to a Level 1 standard

  • Full UK driving licence and your own transport (parking available on-site)

  • Ability to work shifts on a 37-hour week (including occasional paid sleep-ins and overtime)

You will also be supported in obtaining a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, which must be completed within two years of employment.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary, plus sleeping-in payments

  • Career development and progression opportunities

  • A supportive team and training environment

  • Opportunities for professional development at both of our homes (within 3.5 miles of each other)

Interested?
If you're ready to make a difference and take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you!
