Opus people solutions on behalf of Peterborough City Council have and exciting opportunity for a Child Information and Advice Officer to join their team.

The children and advice officer will be responsible for being first point of contact dealing with enquires from both members of the public and professionals from other agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.

This role will be office based at Sand Martin House in Peterborough. You will be required to undertake level 3 police vetting.

The role will include:


  • Deal effectively with telephone and email enquiries from members of the public, customers, services users, internal departments, and professionals from other agencies (e.g. schools, health, police).

  • ​Provide advice, guidance and prompt, high quality responses to all enquiries. To work with professionals to provide feedback on progress and outcomes to partner agencies, professional organisations, and the public as appropriate, verbally or in writing.

  • ​Accurately gather, record, and maintain highly sensitive and confidential data on the designated databases, collating key information relating to Children's Social Care. To operate in accordance with the GDPR, ensuring data is stored accurately to enable the production of statistical and management reports as required.

  • ​To use knowledge, skills, and initiative to obtain comprehensive detail from Referrers. To ensure appropriate contacts are swiftly and accurately progressed to relevant Social Workers and named partner representatives within set timescales.

  • ​Seek advice and guidance from Social Workers and partner representatives in response to contacts and queries as required.
