17.5 hours per week,

Monday to Friday;
£12.21 per hour

The Role
We are looking for a Catering Assistants to join us working at Corton Primary School in Lowestoft. These are hands on roles, with the opportunity to work both in the kitchen and front of house.

We will offer full training including First Aid, Food Hygiene and full on the job training. We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly individuals who would love to work as part of a team in a fantastic local school.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with basic food preparation activities.

  • Cleaning and sanitising all tableware and chafing dishes before catering events

  • Setting up dining areas by arranging chairs, tables, banners and tents, according to the Catering Manager or Events Manager's instructions

  • Loading and unloading food, tableware and catering supplies on and off of catering vehicles

  • Ensuring there is no shortage of supplies by managing orders and inventory


Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with food in line with Health and Safety regulations

  • Great customer service and communication skills.

  • Passion for sustainability and time management skills

  • A Team player providing an excellent service across the Vertas Group.

  • The ability to make the best decisions with Vertas in mind.

  • The ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation.
