Copthorne Community Infant School, DE55 7FF
15 hours per week, Split Shifts, 52 Weeks per year

7am - 8am & 4pm - 6pm
£12.41ph
***This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and therefore you must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings***
Key holding position on a split shift responsible for unlocking the school, health and safety checks cleaning and locking up the site at the end of the day. 6am-6pm
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. This position requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support, making it essential for the Caretaker to be attentive to the needs of those they serve.
Duties
The Caretaker will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Performing commercial cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
  • Assisting with daily living activities, ensuring residents receive the support they need.
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in residents' conditions or needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintaining a safe and organised environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Engaging with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, fostering a sense of community.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and serving as required.
  • Participating in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.


Experience
While prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The following skills are desirable:

  • Experience in commercial cleaning or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with residents, families, and staff.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
