About the Role

Rugby Borough Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Fitter to ensure the safety, compliance, and efficiency of the Council's fleet. This role involves servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles and machinery, supporting the delivery of essential Council services.

Key Responsibilities

Service, repair, and maintain Council vehicles and machinery to the highest standards.
Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections (Class 4 & 7) and taxi compliance tests.
Provide roadside breakdown support, including at landfill sites.
Ensure all work meets VOSA and Health & Safety regulations.
Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (iRTEC) preferred - training available if required.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, compliance, and safety regulations.
A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
