Job Title: Technical Grants Officer (Disabled Facility Grants)

Location: Newcastle Under Lyme

Work Mode: On-site at the town hall and nearby areas for site visits

Pay rate: £16.63 - £18.06 per hour (PAYE), £21.62 - £23.48 per hour (Umbrella), Negotiable

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Assignment Duration: 6 months

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Grants Officer to join our team in facilitating the efficient delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants and other financial assistance provided by the Council. This role involves offering guidance and support to older or disabled individuals and vulnerable groups seeking to enhance, adapt, or repair their residences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct home visits to clients, ensuring they receive comprehensive advice and information throughout the process.
• Keep clients informed about procedures and practices relevant to their circumstances.
• Assist clients in completing DFG application forms and financial means test forms, ensuring the security of sensitive personal data.
• Participate in on-site feasibility studies to determine the best solutions for property adaptations.
• Manage invoicing processes and maintain software systems for monitoring grants.
• Identify additional support services needed by clients and facilitate their application process.
• Obtain and evaluate estimates for work and facilitate contractual agreements.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full Driving license required
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practices.
