Procurement and Accounts Payable Team Leader
Location: Rugby, Warwickshire (hybrid flexible homeworking)
Salary: Up to £43,693 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

It's an opportunity to shape the future of procurement at one of the country's fastest-growing councils. You'll oversee a small but dedicated accounts payable team while providing expert procurement advice across the organisation.
Your work will involve developing strategic procurement policies, negotiating impactful contracts, analysing financial data to identify trends, and ensuring best practices in procurement and payment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor a small accounts payable team (2 direct reports), ensuring smooth and efficient payment processes.
  • Strategic Procurement: Provide expert advice to service units, identifying opportunities to enhance value for money.
  • Policy Development: Create and implement procurement policies, contracts, and training programmes that promote best practices.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyse financial data to identify trends and produce actionable reports that inform decision-making.
