Team Leader
Location: Rainworth, NG21 0HJ
Salary: £13.26 per hour (weekend work paid at time and a half)
Contract: Permanent
Weekly Hours: 35 hours
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day
Weekend Work: One weekend in every four weeks on call, 4 hours Saturday and Sunday
Are you an experienced team leader with a passion for community service and operational excellence? Vertas Group Limited is seeking a Team Leader to oversee the Meals at Home distribution service at our Rainworth facility.
About the Role:
You will supervise a team responsible for the pick, pack and delivery of meals to customers across the community. This includes coordinating staff deployment, maintaining service standards, supporting drivers, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations. You will also be part of a weekend on-call rota to respond to emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate staff deployment to ensure effective meal delivery
• Supervise and support the pick and pack and driving team
• Monitor staff performance and maintain accurate records
• Communicate with management, suppliers and customers
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, hygiene and legal compliance
• Monitor Safe & Well checks and respond to emergencies
• Conduct and document risk assessments
• Operate as the named person for weekend on-call rota
• Support other senior workers and assist with training delivery
• Maintain and monitor IT systems including Terratrack

What We're Looking For:

• Clean driving licence
• NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading or willingness to undertake
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety policies
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and support a team
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Experience in food services and customer care
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
