This is more than a role - it's a chance to be part of history. You'll play a vital leadership role in delivering developer-funded highway works connected to Sizewell, helping to shape the future of transport infrastructure across the region.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading a small, skilled team of engineers and technicians delivering site inspections and ensuring compliance with SCC and national highway specifications.
  • Managing developer-led works under Sections 38 and 278 of the Highways Act, contributing to the safe, timely adoption of new infrastructure.
  • Providing expert technical advice to colleagues, developers, and planners on road layouts, drainage, lighting, and sustainable transport connections.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards, CDM regulations, and best practices in construction and site management.
  • Representing the Highway Authority at planning and public meetings, acting as a key voice in complex discussions and negotiations.
  • Maintaining detailed records and supporting documentation to enable high-quality data and asset management.

What You'll Need

  • A degree-level qualification (Level 6 or higher) in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in highway design and construction management, ideally in a regulatory or local authority setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of transport and planning legislation, design standards, and safety regulations.
  • The ability to lead and motivate a small team, conduct audits, and deliver staff training.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel.

What We're Offering

  • An exciting, high-profile position based at Sizewell Nuclear Power Station.
  • A company vehicle and full PPE provided to support your role.
  • The chance to make a real impact on Suffolk's sustainable transport network.
  • A welcoming and collaborative team culture aligned with our WE ASPIRE values.
  • Excellent training and development
