Job Title: Lead Tenancy Officer

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Pay Rate: Negotiable

Work Mode: Hybrid (3-4 days in the office)

Assignment Duration: 12 months with potential extension

Purpose of the Job

Rugby Borough Council seeks a dedicated Lead Tenancy Officer to spearhead legal proceedings regarding tenancy enforcement, offering comprehensive supervision and guidance to the Housing Management Team. The role includes conducting final tenancy reviews, making recommendations to sustain tenancies, and supporting Housing Officers in all housing management functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the Council in legal proceedings related to housing management.
• Conduct final reviews of at-risk tenancies and identify steps to sustain them.
• Supervise Housing Officers in delivering housing management services for general needs and Independent Living schemes.
• Provide advice and information to tenants and the public through various communication methods, emphasising customer care.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external organisations to sustain tenancies and manage high-risk complaints.
• Monitor and coordinate the use of noise recording equipment.
• Promote tenant participation and maintain community agreements.
• Organise case conferences and ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience in housing management and tenancy enforcement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external organisations.
• Strong supervisory skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of current housing issues and legislation.
• Experience in dealing with the public in a customer-focused environment.
• Full current driving license.
