Housing Revenue Officer required!

Opus People Solutions on behalf of Redditch & Bromsgrove Council are looking for a Housing Revenue Officer to join the Housing Revenue Team at Redditch Council. This exciting hybrid role is hybrid and will require you to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week

As a Housing Revenues Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering an efficient rent collection service
• Managing a caseload of rent accounts for tenants who have fallen into arrears
• Identifying support needs of customers and offering basic benefits & welfare advice and guidance
• Making referrals or signposting to relevant agencies
• Taking the appropriate legal action to recover any outstanding debts, and if required, represent at court proceedings and evictions

Key skills:

• Solid experience in chasing rent arrears from customers within a housing setting
• Strong knowledge & understanding of the housing and welfare benefits system
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Have a pro-active approach to work with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
