Home Finding Officer
Location: Ipswich - hybrid with Tuesday and Wednesday working in the office
Pay: £14.82 per hour, 37 hours per week
Length: 2 X placements available (6 months and 3-4 months)
Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Suffolk County Council for a temporary Home Findings Officers to join their Strategic Commissioning the Home Finding and Contracts Team within the Children and Young's People Directorate (CYP).
The Home Finding and Contracts Team are a countywide operational service which undertake the placement finding and matching with associated purchasing arrangements and in-house resources. Recording, quality assurance and contract monitoring of all placements & associated support services for children and young people, including the provision of foster, respite, residential care placements.
You will be responsible for making placements for CYP with Suffolk's in-house services and associated purchasing arrangements. Record and monitoring all placements & associated support services for children, including the provision of foster, respite, residential care placements, supported living and supported lodgings arrangements. Recording team savings. The role will be working with both internal and external professionals and the external provider market. This includes arranging placement meetings and negotiating individual packages for CYP, troubleshooting to prevent placement breakdowns and ensure completion of individual placement contracts.
The successful candidate will ideally have proven administration skills, ability to organise own workload, ability to keep accurate and timely records and data, confident and clear communicator both written and verbal with good IT skills. Experience in the area will aid this, but we use well established formal processes, and you will be able to draw on the support of experienced colleagues.
Interviews will be held in person, DBS check will be carried out prior to start, along with completed 3 years reference history. Candidates will need to commit to ASAP start once completed.
