Job description
Our client is a leader in the logistics and transportation industry, dedicated to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to our clients. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Clearance Specialist to join our clients dynamic team and ensure the smooth and efficient processing of international shipments. The client, based in felixstowe, have a great local reputation and have been growing in the last few years rapidly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the customs clearance process for import and export shipments.
- Prepare and process import/export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including tariff classifications, duty rates, and any applicable restrictions or permits.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
- Resolve customs-related issues and delays, communicating effectively with customs authorities and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, inspections, and relevant documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and ensure the company's processes remain compliant.
- Provide guidance and support to clients on customs requirements and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs clearance or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and international trade laws.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in customs clearance software and Microsoft Office Suite
