Job description
Job Title: Commercial Property and Highways Lawyer
Location: Suffolk County Council
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days in the office)
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Assignment Duration: 6 months temporary
Overview:
Suffolk County Council is looking for an experienced Commercial Property and Highways Lawyer to provide expert legal advice. This role involves managing complex legal cases, offering strategic solutions, and supporting the council's operations and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality legal advice and customer-focused service in commercial property and highways law.
- Handle complex issues and maintain a specialist caseload.
- Offer expert advice and decision-making using professional judgment.
- Undertake advocacy and represent the Council in various legal settings.
- Contribute to corporate governance and strategic projects.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
- Manage and mentor Paralegals and Caseworkers, delegating and prioritising work.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
- Expert technical knowledge and experience in commercial property and highways law.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and communicate effectively.
- Experience in local government or large public sector organisations.
