We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and proactive Assistant Manager to lead our café operations. This role involves supervising front-of-house service, supporting light kitchen duties, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all leisure centre visitors.
This will be a hands-on role, with a focus on customer service and supporting the Catering Manager in leading and already established and motivated team.
Our customers are at the heard of everything we do and as an Assistant Catering Manager, you will support to drive excellent customer service, innovation, ensure food safety compliance is being met and utilise your leadership skills to motivate the team.
As part of this role you will lead on time management skills, be able to liaise at stakeholder level, promote sustainability and provide suitable line management development with the team supporting the Catering Managers objectives and targets.
The day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Front of House:
- Lead and support the café team during weekend shifts.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring all guests have a positive experience.
- Operate the till, handle cash and card transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the café area.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with restocking as needed.
- Kitchen Duties:
- Prepare and serve light meals, snacks, and beverages in line with food safety
Standards
- Assist with basic food prep and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
- Ensure hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
- Supervisory Duties:
- Open and close the café, following correct procedures.
- Delegate tasks and support team members during busy periods.
- Handle minor customer complaints or escalate as necessary.
- Ensure health & safety and food hygiene regulations are followed.
