About the Role:
Based at Riverside Leisure Centre, Victoria Road, Chelmsford, CM1 1FG you will be working 37.5 hours a week across 5 days including weekends and bank holidays. Riverside Leisure Centre is a busy leisure complex in the heart of Chelmsford, offering a range of facilities including Gym, Swimming, Soft Play and Ice Skating. Home to the Chelmsford Chieftains Ice Hockey Team. We are looking for a Catering Manager to lead the team managing 2 catering outlets within the centre.
Main Responsibilities:
* Communicating regularly with customers and clients to ensure a high level of service is being received.
* Supervision of the cafe including monitoring hygiene standards, staff training and all day-to-day operations of the kitchen and front of house.
* Undertake and lead a team in the preparation, cooking and service of food and drinks.
* Administrative work, including placing orders, cash handling, stock control and monitoring of food budgets.
* Checking and recording the amount, price and condition of all food/non-food deliveries and taking any necessary action required.
* To take responsibility for the standards of cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen premises and equipment whilst maintaining sufficient stock levels of cleaning materials.
* Compliance with company Health & Safety requirements and company policies including safeguarded
* Keeping up to date with mandatory training requirements
* Ensuring colleagues are up to date with mandatory training
* Controlling costs for consumables and staff labour to ensure the business is profitable
* Communicate regularly with your line manager and other business key personnel and reply to emails in a timely manner.
* Promote your site using POS and social media
* Any other reasonable management requests

The successful candidate will be require to go on the premises licence as DPS so a personal licence would be helpful but Vertas will pay for this to be obtained.
