Systems Accountant
Location: Midlands (Hybrid) Rate: £500 per day (Inside/Outside IR35 dependent on assessment) Contract Length: 6 Months
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Accountant to support the ongoing administration, optimisation, and development of the organisation's TechnologyOne ERP platform. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance systems professional with strong ERP administration experience to play a key role in supporting business-critical financial processes and system improvements.
The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for TechnologyOne, ensuring the effective management of financial system configurations, user access, reporting, and budget management processes while supporting business users and stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the TechnologyOne ERP system.
- Manage user access controls, including new user setup, roles, profiles, and security categories.
- Support Financials Administration activities, including:
- Code hierarchy maintenance
- Month-end processes
- Year-end processes
- Maintain Accounts Payable resource pools and related system administration.
- Administer Property & Rating (P&R) Billing and Debtors calendars.
- Develop and maintain XLOne reports and reporting solutions.
- Configure and support budget and forecasting models.
- Support Enterprise Cash Receipting functionality.
- Provide systems support, troubleshooting, and process improvement recommendations.
- Produce and maintain system documentation.
- Deliver user training and knowledge transfer where required.
- Support ongoing system enhancement and implementation projects.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with TechnologyOne ERP, including:
- User Access Control
- Financials Administration
- Accounts Payable Administration
- P&R Billing and Debtors Administration
- XLOne Reporting
- Budget and Forecast Model Configuration
- Enterprise Cash Receipting
- Strong understanding of finance processes and controls.
- Experience liaising with finance, IT, and operational stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
- MTD VAT Module
- Bank Reconciliation Module
- Inventory Module
- ETL processes and integrations
- Local Government sector experience.
- Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
- Experience supporting ERP implementations and upgrades.
- User training delivery experience.
- Strong documentation and process mapping skills.
