Are you passionate about food, teamwork, and delivering exceptional service? Vertas is looking for a dedicated Assistant School Cook to join our Catering team.

About the Role:
Based at The Wherry Primary School, Norwich, NR2 3JA, you will be working 25 hours per week, Mon - Fri 9am - 2pm, 38 weeks per year. You'll play a key role in preparing and serving meals to a high standard while ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations are followed. Ages of children range from 5yrs to 18yrs.


Your responsibilities will include

  • Assisting the Head of Kitchen with all aspects of breakfast, break and lunch service.
  • Food prep, following all strict food safety measures in place.
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
  • Completing paperwork.
  • Be able to step up in the absence of the Head of Kitchen


Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and flexible with a positive attitude
