Shift Pattern: 10:00am - 6:00pm (rota basis)

Opus People Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of our Client, Coventry City Council for an experienced Cook to join a residential care setting in Coventry on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and reliable cook who enjoys preparing fresh, home-cooked meals and making a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable adults.
Working within a supportive residential environment, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious lunch and evening meals for residents, respite service users, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh lunch and evening meals daily.
- Cater for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities within a residential care setting.
- Provide nutritious, home-cooked meals for:
- Approximately 10 residential residents
- Approximately 5 respite service users
- Approximately 6 staff members
- Follow all food hygiene, food safety, and kitchen safety procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food preparation.
- Support dietary requirements and meal planning as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- Food Safety Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate.
- Food Hygiene Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate.
- Level 1 qualifications will be considered, although Level 2 is preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Cook.
- Experience within a residential care home or similar care environment.
- Experience catering for groups of approximately 15 to 21 people.
- Understanding of food hygiene regulations and safe food handling procedures.
