6-Month Interim Contract

Rugby Borough Council is looking for an experienced Operational Training & Compliance Officer to develop and deliver training, competency assessments, and compliance programmes across Waste Services and the wider operational workforce.

This hands-on role will focus on improving workforce capability, driver compliance, Health & Safety standards, and operational performance. You will deliver inductions, driver assessments, toolbox talks, and training for frontline staff, while maintaining robust competency and compliance records.

Requirements:

• Experience delivering driver and operational training within fleet, waste, highways, or local authority environments.
• Strong knowledge of DVSA, operator licence compliance, and Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience developing training programmes, competency frameworks, and compliance systems.
• Excellent coaching and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence (LGV entitlement desirable).
