Caretaker
Location: Chelmsford, CM1 2QU
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm
Salary: £13.11 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours
Setting: Working within a commercial environment
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support the daily operations at a site in Chelmsford. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in ensuring the premises are safe, clean and well-maintained for all users.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine cleaning of communal areas, offices and facilities
* Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks such as changing light bulbs, unblocking sinks and basic DIY
* Ensure the site is secure at the beginning and end of each day including unlocking and locking doors and gates
* Monitor and report any health and safety hazards or maintenance issues to the site manager
* Support with deliveries, moving furniture and setting up rooms for meetings or events
* Maintain outdoor areas including litter picking and basic grounds upkeep
* Follow all site-specific health and safety procedures and ensure compliance with regulations
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities or maintenance role
* Good practical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Able to work independently and manage time effectively
* Strong awareness of health and safety standards
* Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
* Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
