Catering Assistant
Location: Norwich, NR1 2DH
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 15:30pm
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Weekly Hours: 35 hours
Setting: Working within a restaurant environment at County Hall
A Catering Assistant is required to support the service at The Mardle Restaurant in County Hall, Norwich. This role ensures customers receive high-quality meals in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of hot and cold food
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment
- Handle cash and operate tills if required
- Provide excellent customer service to staff and visitors
- Follow food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the site team promptly
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential
- Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of food hygiene standards
- Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
