Are you an experienced Adult Safeguarding professional passionate about protecting vulnerable adults and achieving positive outcomes? Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Practitioner to join its busy and supportive Adult Safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in safeguarding adults with care and support needs, working within a collaborative multi-agency environment while promoting independence, wellbeing, and person-centred practice.

The Role
As a Safeguarding Practitioner, you will manage and undertake safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014, ensuring individuals are protected from abuse and neglect while promoting a Making Safeguarding Personal approach. You will work closely with adults, families, health professionals, care providers, and partner agencies to reduce risk and support positive, sustainable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake adult safeguarding enquiries in accordance with the Care Act 2014.
  • Assess and manage risks relating to abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Develop, implement, and review safeguarding plans to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable adults.
  • Work collaboratively with health services, care providers, partner agencies, and internal teams.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with care providers, supporting quality standards and best practice.

  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
